Half my friends drive BMW's and are as nuts with the retrofitting as I am so it's impossible to do nothing for long, haha.

were there any updates to this? i'm curious to see what the finished effect was - also, if you had any issues with battery drain? thanks for being the guinea pig!

Since I am (eventually) getting rid of this car, I sold the modules. I did get them all installed though.

Power was easy to run to the doors because the harness plug has a hole in it that appears to be for MOST cable, but it's empty on my car. So once I got the door and interior panels off all I had to do was unplug the harness connector where it meets the body of the car and run my 12 volts all the way through.

As far as battery drain, it's hard to determine because not long after compelting the installation I left town for 3 months and came home to a dead battery. It was the original and had been showing intermittent signs of impending failure for a while - so it could have been anything. The proper way to install would be to follow the WDS diagram and run voltage from the appropriate pin(s) on the fuse panel in the trunk - but I got lazy and ran a fused connection directly to the battery. I was concerned that if the voltage going to the soft close modules was ever able to be cut off when the car went to sleep, that it would affect functionality. What I later realized is the CAS sends a wake up signal the second it detects the door opening or closing so there never would have been a circumstance where the car disabled this feature.

For anyone thinking about doing this, I do recommend it.

I sold the modules to a friend and they will be installed in his car soon, so hopefully I will be able to get some proper video and post it here.

Sorry for any misspelling, I'm writing this on an iPad in a parking garage, haha.

Damn Chase, I can't ever type up stuff using them screen tablets. I tried a few times, and it was frustrating as hell, lol.

If you find something you want you have to call - the prices were quite negotiable when I did.
Tried this ebay seller, it has no soft close door module at all. The only that came close was the gas lid door module

Thanks,
