Hoping to revive. Original owner removed unit. Going to buy one to replace. Can I simply plug it up and it recognize satellite signal? I do notice the SAT option is not in my iDrive and I do not have NAV.

doesn't show up or is grayed out? you will have to look at the VO then. See if it's on the vehicle order and if not you have to add it.

I do have it according to VIN and again I see where he removed unit and I can see the wiring. Once I get the replacement unit and I plug it in, what next? Thanks so much.

Shebuilt........if you're still around. Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I'd like to plug and play a new Sirius module as mine just went. We're you able to plug and play, or did you need coding?

So here's a pic where the module goes. Is my 525i "fitted"?

Thanks

Having problems viewing your attached pic, maybe reduce image size and re-post?

As an update to my post above, I bought an identical sat module to the one that died and no coding was needed. YMMV
