Side Project: SOARISTO's diy followup
i was just going on the net and looking through the stuff that soaristo had mentioned before and i came to a conclusion that i would have to try this on my own....its HIGH powered led ...how can you pass that away lol
so as i researched on the net, i came just one part that has to be either sent from japan or find a replacement for it...it is audio-q's RSD-700A product...
well i found a replacement for it on http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/product_i...roducts_id=870 (not sure if it's made to specification)
anyhow, i narrowed all my research up and made a list
Parts that CAN be obtained within US/EU
-ultraled's 1w,3w,5w luxeon driver (from uk i suppose...no clue on shipment availability but i'm sure i could get it)
-the oem bulb socket for fitment (part no.63 12 6 929 309)
-luxeon LXHL-NX05 10? Collimator Lens ($3.40 ea off official website for 1 day shipping)
-luxeon LXHL-LW3C LED's ($8.19 ea off official website for shipment within 6 weeks, 14 dollars ea off of ebay for fastest shipping)
-cpu heatsink (radioshack
)
-miniture cpu fan (i have to check with soaristo for exact size...)
-heatsink silicone
so we could get all the possible materials for the high power led for ourselves within US.
Parts that have to be custom made(?)
-steel casing/support piece for the LED
-power connector end of the luxeon driver (could be done with more information on it...)
but now it all comes down to custom made steel casing(?) for the led....the oem plastic housing can be done at home easily if you have a dremel tool i guess (i will have to check up on this later)
so what do you guys think ?

I think it would be far easier to figure out how to get this in the US, even if it takes someone in Japan just buying a bunch of them:

well i would suggest that way too but i dont want to spend so much money on a thing that i could do by myself..i dunno it could just be me
plus it would only cost me less than $100 to make the high powered led housing by myself....
