hey i was reading this post and was very interested. I am in the process of buying the parts for the retrofit and have a few questions:
1. do i need the ccc fan for it to work?
2. can i use the same plug from my mask unit to my ccc unit?
3. does the high idrive controller need a separate cable from my original idrive controller?
any help would be greatly appreciated.

1. I wouldn't consider doing the upgrade unless you used the CCC Fan, the unit does get quite hot even with fan
2. I purchased a HIGH cable to go from Pro Nav CCC to widescreen display
3. The High i-Drive console has a microphone cable from memory

Problem I had was getting my retrofit from Business Nav to Professional Navigation programmed, it errored each time it was tried, my parts came from Poland and my E60 is from Australia.

I have a couple issues but generally, it was a successful retrofit.

Progman software update your car first, since the upgrade to Pro Nav I can't perform the Pro Nav Retrofit software update or Progman software update for my E60 car unless I re-install the Bus Nav parts, it throws up an error message when they try and do.

 

Im getting my ccc coded, so are you saying that before i get my ccc coded i need to take my car to bmw to update the software?

I had my E60 coded before Pro Nav update just incase, but found after I installed Pro Nav parts, when they tried to do the Pro Nav Retrofit software update, the process gets an error message and they can't proceed.

My car can't be software updated while my Pro Nav parts are installed, I have to put back Bus Nav parts.

 

Hey, that sounds like alot of work so do you recommend me taking it to bmw to get the program updated? If so Do you think they will add aux in the same time?

 

Are the Pro Nav parts brand new or from a used vehicle.

If 2nd hand Pro Nav, if you don't get the AUX installed now and Progman software updated, no guarantee they can update software if AUX installed at same time with used Pro Nav parts.

If Pro Nav parts are used, a genuine BMW dealer may refuse to install, mine in Adelaide did.
