Hi,

I have found some Genuine BMW 5 series E60 electric fold door mirrors with auto dip and would like to know can these be fitted after market. Can I plug and play with these mirrors straight into the wiring loom(take it the wiring will be in place once original mirrors are removed) or do BMW need to program?

Thanks

I dont think its as easy as that, from what ive read you need to have comfort access on the seats and a new mirror control hingey. Almost certainly it will need a recode as everything else seams to.

I would however be intrested if this is not the case as its a real pain not folding the mirrors

First, getting dimming to function, You need autodimming rear view mirror. You get the control lines to door mirrors from there. I retrofit the inside mirror to autodimming and it was quite easy job. Naturally there is NOT A SINGLE spare wire = You have to rewire everything, but not too difficult to do. No programming needed. Dimming outside mirrors is the next project...someday
To fold the mirrors, You naturally need new doorswitchcentre.
