600 is for the major discoloration / imperfections.

K i tried the sand and plastic X it smooths out the spot but you can still see it. I used 800grit sand paper, 2000grit, plastic X, and mother wax. Any suggestions what I should do now or should I try to attempt this sanding once again? I might just take it to some shop around here that do headlight restoration.

take your time and try using a finer grit like 2200grit

Guess ill do it again, wouldn't 2000 grit b fine? When I did it you know how your headlights fog up it looks like that a little after doing all the sanding and waxing.

K I just redid mines and perfect, the spot came off. Took my time sanding with 800, 1000, 2000. Now when you look to the side it looks cloudy, but when you look in the front its cool but you can tell its a tiny bit cloudy. Did I sand it too much or too hard? I used the plastic X then polished it with the machine and after that I used the mothers wax. Did I miss a step or something because mines didn't turn out crystal clear, you can still see the sand mark a little.

Do you have a buffering machine? The final step you pretty much need to use a tool, otherwise it'll not come out clean.

ta0sum,
I did a similar treatment to my lights and they came out great. It sure beats the price of paying for new OEM ones. You may also want to periodically treat your lights with a polish that contains a UV inhibitor. I believe Mother's Gold or Meguiar would do the trick.
