Reset engine Oil counter when not yet due

Not sure if it applies to our cars, but there are service maintenance FA codes such as:
S8STA Maintenance interval encoding, stage 3
S984A Maintenance interval encoding
S988A Maintenance interval encoding, stage 2
found at: All Bmw option codes list.
Among other things, it may update the inspection limit coded (gallons) since the oil change interval is counted down via fuel used. Non-E60 example:
Re-coding the Instrument Cluster for a shorter Service Interval display (LEDs)
I have heard that other CBS items depends on oil change frequency, s.g. cabin micro-filter for every other oil change.
