Has anyone ever attempted to retrofit rear fold-down seats with a car that didn't have fold-down seats? Unsure of the compatibility. Would love to have the feature, but maybe there needs to be existing securing hardware?

Thanks!
Mike

god i would love to see this. when i bought the car they told me that it had fold down rear seats, which wasn't true. by the time i had it shipped here i figured it wasn't worth the effort to fight it..

I have read a complete DIY on how to do this. I think it was a 3-series. Don't remember which forum though.

sorry to bring back an old thread but do we have any success stories for the fold down rear seats? Is it straight fwd like the e90 DIY? Part obviously would be different but is that it?

I found the seats but can't seem to find the release levers in the trunk. I'm not sure if that is the same as the what is in the e90 DIY
