Thank you very much.? Looks like something that will be doing in the near future.
Any thoughts about placing the concealed display to the left next to the A pillar??? I want to see that MPG gauge.

I just finished the install following the pics and comments on the thread. Very helpful. Would have taken a lot more time without the info.
I used the green/yellow wire going to the mirror/rain sensor
Grounded to the hex bolt holding the sunroof drive mechanism
Wire out through the opening betw the windshield and the insert
My Escort 8500 is working fine now.

I installed my Valentine One this weekend.? Works like a charm.? Thanks for the info here.
Some notes:
1. I used the wire bundle going to into the rain sensor (I think that's the one Don Juan used, rather than the one jksanford used).? It contained the green/yellow wire.
2. Couldn't figure out good unobtrusive location which would allow me to use the sun visor without blocking the detector.? Right now it's in the same place the Don Juan placed his.
3. I used the same grounding screw as jksanford:? screw came out very easily using an appropriately sized allen key.
4. I got a long bath towel and spread it out from the top of the dashboard all the way down the center console and armrest area to protect the finish / catch falling stuff while i installed.? Saved the finish from good chip as i dropped a wrench.
5. Correct part from ValentineOne (for those of you who don't have the adapters that came with the original V1) is Direct-Wire Power Adapter Kit (part number 00030).? Parts dept website is here.

It is strange. I used the same wires going into the rain sensor to hardwire the V1. 'Course I rarely use the rain sensor, but I did use it for a short while this weekend.
mflauer, are you sure you have the sensor button activated on the wiper stalk?

The radar has no obstructions and is very accurate. Did I say very.accurate. I had the same setup in my 330Ci, so it was a matter of try with a voltimeter which wire had the juice. Now I don't have to worry of taking it down or hiding it for cops or thieves?
Tonite will take some pictures of my setup and the wire connection.

[/quote]I can't comment on the airbag sensor, but the tap that is supplied with the V1 at least is for a larger guage, and you may have to wiggle it, crimp it more. I used a different connector to the wire(smaller guage), after I tapped in with the supplied one, and would have power then not, then power, etc. All fine now.

It would be one hell of a coincidence if the wiper failure wasn't related to you tapping into the wires there...
