The V1 is inside the black box.
The black dome you see on the left is the Active Cruise Control radar

Isn't the radar much less effective so low? Mine is all the way above the rear view mirror on the inside. Everyone told me the higher the better right?

Yes, the higher the radar the better.

jmcaiado, that is a nice setup but you are sacificing your rear protection and the front distance of the radar detector. Most beam are pointed higher. But I guess for some states (here in the USA) and some countrioes having a rada detector is not legal, so PROPS on the conceal installation. Some people may want detail steps on how you did it. It will be nice to have some documentd. If you have a chance please post some instructions and pictures.

Regards

Does the active cruise radar cause any sort of false alarms or does it use a frequency that is outside the range that police use?

Just wondering...

Hi,

ACC radar is on the 80GHz band (pretty high)
The maximum freq the V1 detects is 36GHz or so (Ka Band).
Conserning sensitivity . the V1 is hyper sensitive know, rear protection not needed here.
I have climate control glass on my E60, so the V1 gets bloket by 90% inside the car.

Q: Any plans to provide Stealth One support for the new 5 and 6 series BMWs

A: We have plans to support it, we just don't have a schedule yet.
Thanks.

This worked great. Thanks for the pictures. I took some as well, so I'll post those also.

I just wish i would have thought to look here prior to unplugging the airbag light plug. Now I've got a air bag fault error, even though it's plugged back in. I

I wonder if disconnecting the battery will reset everything. I guess if that didn't work, I'd have to confess my radar installation sins to the BMW Clergy and hope they have mercy on me.

Ok, I took some pictures as well. Again, remember not to unplug the Passenger Airbag Warning light with the car started (or start the car after /while it's unpluged and you're testing your installation). This probably just happened to us that we're poking around for the proper wire.

This is the final result from inside. A good friend of mine is a local policeman, and tested the laser from back and front while we were on cell phones. This installation worked fine, and just about the same as with the detector positioned in the middle of the windshield...
