Oh man, wtf, I can't find the green/yellow wire. Actually, mine looks very different than the pics in this thread. I don't even have any light blue wires, nor yellow either. Wtf, I know I am not color blind, I had my brother look at it too and he can't find it either

My Ride: 2007 550i Silver A08. CF Kidney Grills, Vossen CV1's 20x9, 20x10.5, wrapped with Hankook Evo's, RPI exhaust, ACS trunk spoiler, K&N Filter, CF Front Splitter, Updated Lighting interior and out (HID's and LED's), rear LCI Conversion w/V6.1 cables (Ricky Effect).
New to the scene, just went through every page...Just got a 2007 550i...Looking to hardwire my Passport 8500 x50.
For the V1 owners, I am rather jealous of that special power wire that provides you with a mini display of whats going on while your detector is somewhat hidden up and away. Has anyone with the Passport radar unit tried this similar set-up (link below) which should in essence mimic what the V1 owners have?
http://www.escortradar.com/store/dir...cord-blue.html
I was thinking of just connecting it in the fuse panel (hoping to find one in the driver footwell area) then running the wire to the lower left corner of the dash, velcro-ing the mini display unit there and continuing to route the remainder of the wire up the A-pillar under the roof panel and over to the actual radar unit, somewhere near the rearview mirror.
That way I don't have to touch the lighting unit, or search for any colored wires.
Any thoughts?

I've been looking for two days now and I cannot find the green/yellow wire on my bundles anywhere. Today i will specifically look at the mirror bundle. Currently, I have everything mounted through a switch so I can turn off the detector because getting to it when mounted under the visor is difficult. The switch works very nicely but is hot al the time. There has been a few times when I have left the switch on and had the voltage warning the following morning. I would like to find a 12v power wire that is only on when the car is on so that IF I forget then it's no worries... I have a 2008 535 LCI so I am assuming I have a green/yellow going to the mirror.

Late late late post..... I'm new to this forum and site..
Jus bought my 5 couple months ago and so deathly scared of this install, and worried that I might turn on some error lights...
Thanks to stream and DJ I'm sold on your setup and install...
Therefore I'm getting my V1 this weekend and I will do this setup and let you know how it goes... Thanks

Did the install.. First time hooked to sunroof so when I turned the valentine on the sunroof would open and close haha.
But later I found the wires hidden on the left sde which you kinda have to reach for it..
Success awesome install

Don... I just wanted to thank you for having this readily available. You saved me a lot of time. I'm a newbie to the site and recently purchased my 2nd Bimmer, 08 535i, and I had done this on my 05 M3 back in 05 and had since forgot how to do it. Thanks again.

Don Juan:
I'm about to do this too, as I just traded my e92 328 for a 550.
Did you have to strip the yellow/green wire before you put the blue clip on it?
Also, where did you ground it? Is one of the torx screws going to the sunroof motor sufficient?
I must admit, in the 3 it was much easier to wire it in.
Thanks!
