Also I said , On my car and calpalmer's car there are apperntly are only one green/yellow wire up there not two. Alot of the 08's are all getting the same error of a sun roof pinch or safety shut down to prevent a pinch.

I seen in a couple other places alot of the 08's are haveing much difficulty locating the correct wire. It seems that on the newer 08's there are some wiring differences.

I will try and get a voltage tester and do some looking in to it.

Unless something changed from my delivery, got everything working in about 20 min. There is 2 green/yellow wires, if one does not work try the other. Also try to re-crimp that clip which came with V1, goodluck

I think i have the same issue on my 08 535xi. Whats the alternate solution?? Any help on this would be great.

My alternate solution is I'm headed to the BMW dealer in a couple weeks and have them select the right wire. When I get it done I'll post which wire they used.

How about trying to run the wire down the A-pillar to the fuse box and using fuse tap to get the power?
I've done it today on brother-in-laws Audi and will try it on my car this weekend. Here's how it's done on E90:

Kinda what I did on my R32 ( VW Golf on steroids) But I hooked it much cleaner on the back side of the fuse box.

Still don't have a solution since the wife just got back from a vacation with the car..

Anyone have success with the '08s yet? I want to order a V1, but I'm hesitant because of the hardwiring issues.

When I first had the V1, I tapped the overhead. It works, but (confirmed by many other owners) everytime the car starts up, the sound coming from the V1 is one of an underpowered/dying unit. The gauge of the wire may be too thin for the start-up requirements of the V1. I have since relocated the power wire to the passenger footwell 12V adapter. Running a 15 foot RJ11 there barely was long enough... but it was. I used a plastic 3" putty knife and hid the wires 100% from view, and wire tapped the 12V outlet. No problems at all.

My RJ11 is not the ultra thin kind... just standard issue black. You don't wanna use the one from V1 because the head is too big. You want a stardard one. With the putty knife, I was able to tuck the wire on the side of the dash all the way down the side, parralel to the door jambs. It cannot be seen at all.

I did the same install, but used the outlet plug in the footwell. Can't be seen, but I'm afraid that someone will kick and break it off.

Is it relatively easy to disassemble the outlet and surrounding plastic to hardwire it? I haven't looked at it, but could likely figure it out. Any tips?

TIA
