Has anyone any info on the operation of panoramic sunroofs in E61 tourer. The tilt mechanism in mine seems to have gone wrong. The rear section will not go down and the front section will drop but then lift again if you keep the button pressed. I can get the front section down by using short presses of the button till the section is in the lowered position. One press too many and it goes up again. I wonder if the problem relates to under-use. I dont think the roof will have been used more than 10 times in all the time that I have had the car.
My car is a 530D E61 2004 with 63000 miles and a full BMW dealer history.

My panoramic roof opens on tilt but fails to close again. Needs manual wind down or a full initialisation brings it down.

It's a 2004 54 reg.

My research tells me that problems with these roofs are not that uncommon.
