Other than the Sprint booster what are my options?

The N52 engine isn't a really good tuner.
You can reprogram the ECU, but even that will only give you 15 to 20hp max.

The OP has an 04' 530. From what I remember, that's an M54 engine. N52 came out in 06' I believe.

The Powerbox is for N52 engines only.
Here in Holland we do not use powerboxes. We reprogram the engine ECU. No addional hardware required and 99% of the car/engines out there are programmable. Including pretty much all BMW engines.
Since they mainly up the turbo pressure, tunes for engines without a turbo have less effect.

N52 is estimate to go 258hp->275hp and the 231hp version to aprox 246
