I have narrowed my rattle to the speedo cluster. When I drive over an un-even road the speedo makes a rattle/vibration noise.

question #1 If I remove it and drive the car to make sure it is the cause of the sound, will the computer generate errors that can't be easily removed

question #2 If I replace it, is it the speedo cluster or the computer that stores the miles on the car? I hope it is the compter

question #3 Any idea what the heck could be rattling in the speedo cluster

I doubt you'll be able to drive the car without the cluster. Leave it plugged and safely to the side close to the door, without putting stress on the cable.

Both, you need to have the replacement cluster reprogrammed by the dealer.

Ok...so I think I figured it out. Or at least the source. The two dials that show the cruise speed and the temp are rattling. Not sure to repair it????

Any ideas?
