Doing the same mod in a couple of weeks, only with a MTX 4-channel amp (which I already have).

The Earthquake's cost ? 109,-/piece here in Holland. Also got a great deal on Rockford Fosgate T1T tweeters for ? 99,-. Going to add the tweeters to the front speakers, just powered by the M-Ask. Did you already upgraded your other speakers?

Als ik dat had geweten..., it's a difference of almost 100?.

The speakers (Boston) are still in the box, no time.
Have fun with the mod.

Am i right in thinking that if I was to use one of these amps http://www.blaupunkt.com/uk/7607792132_main.asp with the correct PNP adapter http://www.blaupunkt.com/de/download/PnP_a...iste_250407.pdf then the amp would have the low frequency fed into it along with the mids/highs for the doors and all that would need running is PNP cable and the new speaker cables for the subs carrying the low frequencies to them?

If that is the case then it seems like a goodway to upgrade the shoddy standard UK system to something pretty decent if you change the subs and add tweeters. Might be my xmas present from the wife.

No, infact it will sound worse if you only change the woofers and not the amp because the small BMW amp cannot drive the woofers you will install. If you only want to do one and not the other I'd suggest replacing the amp and make it drive the OEM woofers a bit harder.

I also am not satisfied with the sound from the standard euro-setup and have read a lot of topics on different sites about changing speakers and adding amplifiers. I had 2 options left. 1 add the L7 tweeters and mids and SWS-8 woofers or the audio-system X-ion 200 BMW. Yesterday I finally decided to go the a.s. way and bought the X-ion set.

Now I have to buy an amp for it. The 2 options are Blaupunkt THA-475 or 555. The X-ion set needs a four channel amp. but I am not sure if I connect only the front pnp cable to the 475 (and the rear back to the original speakers (or later to a separate rear amp) that there will be coming sound from only channels 1+2 or that there will be sound on all four channels only from that front PNP connected. The other question is : if I buy the 555 the subs from the x-ion set will have only mono sound and could that effect the sound quality since they are filtered as high as 130HZ, plus the are designed to get the same wattage as the mid/high and that will not be the case in this configuration. And with the 555: could I blow up the original rear speakers that are not designed to receive 75 watts RMS.
I always thought that PNP was easy.
