Hi, i received my m5 spoiler today, i laid it on the trunk without removing the tape and i could see that the sides were lifting off the trunk quite abit, almost an inch on both sides, only the middle part would touch the trunk lid, but i thought the tape would be strong enough to hold the sides down. Well i installed it and held it down for a few mins, but after about 30mins the sides have started to lift off the trunk, just a little bit, 1cm maybe. How can i get this to stick down without lifting up at all? Also the middle stuck down properly so if i take this off now will it pull the paint off? Thanks.

Use heavy duty dental floss to remove it, you should make sure the spoiler is warm to assist in comforming to the trunk profile . Is it a replica ? Are you sure it was positioned properly ? Any Pics ?

I bought a replica set too and my supplier told me specifically not to install it in the cold, it needs to be warm so you can kind of fit it in place. If you don't have a warm place to install it, wait until spring.

make sure the surface of the trunk is clean before applying the tape as well....some members will use tape or bungee cords..or something to weight the spoiler down as well...let it sit weighted down for a few hours after application as well...

Tell me about it man...I live in Minnesota and it won't get warm enough for months, I've dying to put it on. But for me, its not only to put it on in a warm place, but adhesives take a bit to cure too so if you let it sit out in the heat, I imagine it will form a stronger bond long term. Its your baby, do it right man!

If you plan to leave it on I would use epoxy on the ends and weigh it down for 24 hours, don't let dirt get under there or it will never adhere properly.

Good luck !
