I have a September 2004 530D in Europe with the business M-ASK that has no buttons ( 1 through 6). I just bought a M-ASK off a US model that does have the buttons, and I'm guessing this one will play mp3's as well. Should I worry about any incompatibility issues? Thanks for your help.

I'm not sure exactly what your talking about, I'm guessing the I-Drive CCC, I'm also not sure what buttons you are talking about but if your swapping from a european to us M-ASK then it should not be a issue. As long as the screen is the 6.5" and the CCC is the non-navi it should be fine. So. I hope that's what your talking about.
