I ordered the PDC aftermarket kit from BMW and it came with no instructions. I wanted to attempt to install this myself. Has anyone ever done this or have the manual?

I dont know what the number plate is but it is the license plate with 2 sensors for $300 from BMW.

Yes. Hence the first question. I had mine installed by the agents. Basically it was rubbish. As supplied, it detects close objects but could not be turned off. It detected hedges, cows in fields, motorbikes (it loved motor bikes) etc and if it rained it beeped continuously. Eventually after several attempts the agents managed to install an on/off button and reconfigure the software. They also had to install an additional speaker because you couldn't hear the rear sensor alarm. I paid over ?1200 for this and regretted it. Eventually I bought an LCI. In sum, I wish you luck. Sorry I can't advise on the technicalities of the installation, but neither could BMW.

Well that is great news! Anyone else have any expierence? Are you saying it beeps no matter what or only in reverse?

I had front and rear sensors. To start with they all functioned all of the time, so in traffic both sets were sounding. Eventually with some 'multiplexing' (whatever that is) the rear only functioned when in reverse and the front turned on when the engine started and then had to be turned off manually.

I did plenty of research when they were installed but seemed to be the only person who had ever purchased them. Certainly I've never seen another E60 with the plate sensors fitted.

I was told that they are wired to the reverse lights so it only works in reverse!
