Thanks for the all the info sp100, so besides the pan/filter and oil does one need to buy any other parts to change the pan/oil on the tranny ??
Just make sure you get that hand pump from autozone , and approx 2 ft long piece of hose that will fit inside that hose that comes with the pump.(check home depot) Also it is easier to remove the fill plug with an 'L" shaped 8mm hex wrench. Some of the screws on the pan were a pain. If any should strip when taking them off, just dab a little valve grinding compound on the tip of your torx, then use a small hammer to "lightly" ( very lightly) Tap on the torx, then try removing again. Try not to make your torx slip. I would also use all new pan screws.Good luck

I would replace your brake pads with AXXIS Deluxe low dusting pads. Contact member Trinity Autosport. http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showuser=16681

Trinity Autosport sells AXXIS Deluxe brake pads as well as standard, vented, and slotted/vented rotors.

I tried HomeDepot to find the same size of hose used in the hand pump. no luck. It was a little bit bigger in diameter. So I had to pump the fluid underneath, not on the side.

Agree, I'd like to see pics on this project too. Just got a quote for a pan replacement for $525+ tax from a trusted private garage specializing in European cars. Being a newbie, I think the additional $250 or so in labor (compaired to DIY) is worth having them do it. I hope that includes a new pan and not just a new gasket to place on the old pan...I'll be finding out first!
