Dealer will refuse it as the USB audio SA6FL is ment for LCI cars only. I do all my own retrofits.

I'm going the same way
Just bought the MULF2 (84109224674) and some of the optical cables and connectors (61138387214, 61136917978). For the electrical part I'll need a few things: 61136920074, 61136909070, 61136909072 (I hope this is the blue one (for MULF2), not the grey one (for TCU) and some pins. Bad news is that the USB out connector is sold as a retrofit cable only and can not be ordered alone.
BLooD, where are you going to install the MULF - next to the TCU, in the spare tyre area, or somewhere in the glovebox? First I wanted to install the module behind the glovebox and just use the MOST diagnostic port for fiber and the glovebox torch power connector for 30,31 (+12v and ground), but there is not enough space for it. What is your opinion or maybe you have a better plan?

Why did you not buy the official retrofit kit?, im going to follow the retrofit instruction and fit in the wheel well.

Thats the easy way, I know. Just don't like the idea of buying too many cables and kits used for nothing I already have AUX, TCU with bluetooth and all the stuff (Online, Assist ...) and prefer the hard way of doing it all myself.
Will be adding $6FL to CAS and LMA and recoding CAPPL enough?

Not shure if adding 6FL to VO will force the MULF appear in NCSExpert modules list, but will try. I'm using OBD cable not OPS and that may be a problem too.
Everything except USB must be disabled in MULF too.

Will be watching your work with much interest BLooD, I have the iPod interface already but would prefer the USB interface.

Does anyone have the manual/documents that come with the iPod interface? Mine hasn't been fully fitted and I'd like to make sure all is right on it.

OK, I've made some coding and the result is no good so far.
Adding $6FL to CAS, LMA and recoding CCAPL does nothing. No access to USB under AUX menu.
Adding $644 to my VO is not possible as NCSExpert is giving COAPI error 1000. Just to mention my VO contains already this:
6AA BMW TELESERVICES
609 NAVIGATION SYSTEM PROFESSIONAL
612 BMW ASSIST
616 BMW ONLINE
620 VOICE INPUT SYSTEM
633 PREPARATION MOB. BUSINESS BLUETOOTH INTERFACE
Analog AUX is there too. I guess 644 conflicts with 633.
The only way to add $644 is to remove $633, but I'll loose my TCU that way. Changing production year from #0906 to #0907 does not help either.
After the swap from $633 to $644 in VO, MULF2 is listed in NCSExpert and DIS, but you CAN NOT do anything with it using just OBD cable as obviously it is MOST only (no CAN connection). MULF2 cannot be read or coded, nothing!

So how the f**k are other people adding $6FL to pre LCI cars by keeping the TCU module and its functionality?

Somebody???
