iPod interface installation DIY

Here's some pics of the install. I think they are pretty self explanatory except that the CD-Changer screws don't come out. They just loosen and then permits you to pull the unit out. I fixed the iPod interface with the supplied cable ties. No drilling no nothing. Plug n Play.

PM me if you want the BMW service bulletin that will permit you to get the mp3 retrofit done for free, which enables you to play MP3 CD's or use the iPod interface. Or if you want the official BMW ipod interface installation instructions.

so theres no way to have cd changer and ipod?

nope it's either one or the other. no USB unless it came factory already and there is no retrofit for 6ers

I did this same install on my 6 when I bought it two months ago. After the install I
remembered I should have taken pics. I would suggest you order the cover which
will fill that HUGE whole in your glovebox. Its only like $10 from the parts dept.

Looks great, congrats, what is the part number for the interface and can you e-mail me the Bulletin (even though my car is out of warranty for 3 months now!)
