ebay... i used to sell the item to go along with the DIY here but unfortunately almost everyone got all the info and support they needed from me and then went and purchased it somewhere that offered it 10$ cheaper than me so i discontinued selling the item.

cdc doesn't play mp3 cd's. all you need to do is put the interface in.

Is the standard lead long enough to reach the ashtray area?

Ok, thats mine fitted. Made my own custom stand for the iphone using the Scosche passport stand. The standard cable is long enough but i had to remove the plug casing for it to fit.

This is the latest ipod retrofit kit from BMW and charges iphone 3gs (not tried version 4 yet). The part number is 65412160344.

If your car is pre wired for a cdc then you can do it (you will need coding tho). Not sure about the bluetooth...is it factory?

Update: the Iphone 4 works even better than the iphone 3 ...seems to load faster.

Hi guys, I am really wanting this iPOD option on my 545i, primarily I need to know the following...

1-I have a CD changer in the glove box, so I can retrofit a cable, but need to know where I can buy it.

2-I would also like to install the dock since I have an iPhone 3GS. Where can I buy it from and how easy is it to install?

3-Coding, I will go to BMW to get the MP3 coding done.

Any other issues I have to worry about?

Many thanks to everyone who contributed to this awesome thread.

Cheers!
