Thumbs up

I've gone through a few of the older posts pertaining to this DIY project and didn't find too many negatives. Anyone have anything that i should be careful of?
I've heard about dashboard alerts on HID installs, but not with just changing out bulbs.

Thanks

Not really if you're just changing out halogen bulbs with halogen bulbs it will be fine... make sure the new bulbs draw the same power as the old one... or at least not too much more... about 55Watts

As for aftermarket HIDs I found a set where it will not set off dashboard alerts. It has a built in circuit that mimics the startup of a regular bulb so it will not throw off the Bulb out message. $135. cheap!!!

Thanks. I'll update when finished...in case anyone cares. Happy to be getting rid of the off-white fogs.

Haha ok.

Scroll down to the middle section HID/Xenon Upgrades and look for the Apexcone HID kits. I have used one and know of a friend who has helped installed a few of these on BMWs and Porsches and they work great.

Hey there,

I've got HID fogs and no error message on idrive / blinking of fog lights.

The HID kit was $80 dollars and the cable to cancel out the idrive message was $24-25 dollars. Let me know if you need me to point you in the right direction.

I've had it since november and haven't had any problem at all with it.

I'm trying to put in a whiter light as well. Can someone tell me how to get the fog lights off? Do I have to pull off the plastic grill to get to the fog light screws or is there a place to stick a screw driver and pop them out like on the old 3-series?

There's a good DIY post with pictures, that I can't locate currently. I'll post again later with the link.
