i was planning on buy an aftermarket hid kit off ebay and i was wondering if the computer or screen would come up with any error message opr anything like that? since the 5 series has so much electronic stuff. or would it be ok and normal to install an aftermarket hid kit with no problems

with our cars, i believe that for us to get a HID kit, we need a special ballast that will tell the computer the bulb is in fact not out. So make sure you order a kit that has that special ballast.. Usually the special ballast tends to be more money.. so yeah.

here is one.

Xetronic Special Ballast HID kit

I've had some friends buy from there, KIT was great, really bright, and didn't have any problems..
