Since my HUD looks angled (and I found a broken plastic clip on the front seat floor at ED), I was expecting to have my dealer look into fixing the HUD so that it isn't crooked on the glass.
I was wondering if you could find how complicated it is to get access to the HUD unit from inside the dashboard and what is involved in repairing/replacing that unit????????
I am worried that more stuff will be re-assembled poorly than if I just leave it angled

My car always makes a strange humming (annoying) noise during deceleration on a certain speed range (between 65 kph to 55 kph, say between 40 to 30 miles). In the same speed range, the noise immediately stops by slightly pressing on accelerator or shifting to Neutral.
The dealer initially blamed the tires; later they said it may be due to downshifting gears and therefore it is normal. Regardless of the reason, I feel that a noise that has come up in only last 3 months of the 10 months of ownership must mean something is wrong somewhere and that it is not normal as it was not there before. Dealer even went as far as saying that they tested other cars and they all make the same noise.
Any technical comments or suggestions?
Can folks with 530i comment if they hear a similar noise which would be far more noticable with stereo switch off and a/c on low.
Thanks

Kind of like a big rig (Peterbilt) decelerating after a downshift.

I am the owner of a 2004 545i. We live in Denver, CO where it gets very cold at times. This is the first winter for this car, we purchased it in Atlanta, and when it gets below about 15 Deg F a warning light for the steering and suspension goes off. It just dawned on me to check the power steering fluid level. As suspected it is low. Quick question is, do I have to locate CHS11S oil for power steering fluid or is there something usually available at an auto parts store that will work?
Does anyone know why there is no mention of this in the maintenace part of the owners manual? There is nothing that I can find on adding power steering fluid.
Thanks
Mark T

ok guys here is my problem, i have the escort x50 blue and i hardwired it to my car under the rear view mirror. i followed the instructions on a form on here somewhere which told me to splice into a "green wire with a yellow strip on it". i then found the wire and spliced into it and grounded the other end...worked perfect and turn on and off with the ignition up until 2 days ago....i had it hardwired for almost 6 months with no problem. then recently the radar started to short out on me so i replaced it thinking it was defective...well the radar was perfectly fine but the connection was not good. i reconnected the wire and it kind of worked.....so i peeled off some of the plastic housing around the wire and reconnected it and worked great....for only a day....now i get nothing from the wire....no juice it seems like...i tried and tried to connect and reconnect the wire but i dont even get a little spark anymore..what can cause this to happen and what could be and alternate route into fixing this problem....guys i have that damn coiled wire connected to it now and it looks horrible....so u see where im coming from so please help me out....

It's a very complex machine...
Do you know how to change spark plugs on 545i?
I did it on my previous 540i E39 but it seems much more difficult
Thanks so much !!!
