I just replaced my microfilters (cabin air filters) as they were absolutely filthy (iDrive said 600 km left). Reset the iDrive and it went up to 90'000 km!

I'm pretty sure the filters will need to be changed earlier than that, does anyone know if it's possible to shorten the iDrive interval? I guess to 25'000 km or so that I had in the E46.

I recently replaced the two micro filters in my e60 a month or so ago and after resetting the the iDrive, it showed that there was 100,000 miles to go!!!!! Now about a month later it shows 90,000 miles to go. Maybe the air is really clean here?? :-)

I'll visually check the filters in a few months just to make sure they're still okay.

Can the "vehicle check" be reset even if a service is not due yet. EG I have 4,100 kms to go before an oil change. I have just performed the oil change, and would like to reset the oil change for a further period, but I am unable to get the service icon/yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in the centre to appear when following the procudure listed below.

Yes, I did my oil service well in advance of the iDrive indicated need and had no problem resetting it.

When you replaced the microfilters, how did you do the reset using the iDrive? I just changed mine this weekend and was hoping to find some way to do the reset.

Thanks very much

using the eminent search function on this forum gave this result:

"Press the tacho reset button in the instument cluster about 10 seconds with the key to on position, until "service" appears, then change selection with a sigle push until "engine oil" appears. Keep pushing the "reset " ask yes? and that's all. Next oil change after 25000 Km appears on the idrive "service"menu."

the above is for oil change but stepping through the selections gets you microfilter too

Yes, this is the same way I reset my cabin filter service and my last oil change service.

I have used the tacho reset button for oil and other services, but I thought from the previous message there might be a way to do the reset using the iDrive FUNCTION knob rather than the tacho button.
