Thank you Vlad, as I said I'm not done since the finish isn't quite as glossy as I wanted, but I learned a lot!!! I think I am going to go with metallic clear caot the next round to give it the extra "pop"

I took it off, seemed much more time consuming to mask and paint so I just removed it and the grilles and started painting. That is my tip: Better to remove the trim and paint farther away from your car to ensure no overspray.
