With the Hard Drive on board, you can burn to it from CD's etc, it's a great feature! I recently had to help my Mother-in-Law with her new F01 750Li with this same task as the guys at the dealership could NOT figure out how to do it! Her salesman (mine too) even said "That's Dave's job to show you how to do this!"

Oh thats cool. Didnt know the 2010 iDrive did this... not "that" much different than just runing it off the USB drive I guess... Whats the real benefit? Faster loading? More songs?


I'm runing a 4gb drive with folders of songs and it seems to work well... I've had it on a 8GB drive but I was wasting space so I downgraded to a 4GB LOL

Haha so I got a loaner with the new HD and I just copied like 20 songs into the HD so i can listen to it while i have the car. Works great! dont need to worry about forgetting the CD or USB drive... and I'll leave the songs on the car for the next renter.
