Cool. Right now I've removed the rear seats and all the trim from the trunk, and am applying tons of sound deadening. Every piece of plastic that touches another piece of plastic I also need to stick some foam to prevent rattles (such as the ill-fitting taillights and where the left side of the rear bumper hits against the heat insulation piece). Exhausting work.

So how do you get the bass into the cabin? I assume you have the ski hole or have cut a hole in the plastic behind the seats. I've taken out the whole rear armest and cut out that entire square of plastic. Which direction do you face the sub to get loudest?

Yup, the rear bumper is one of the most badly designed pieces on the E60. It rubs right up against whatever is next to it on all three sides, and rattles like crazy. I took it off and am covering the entire inside with special anti-rattle peel-off foam.

Ok, that subwoofer....
I removed rear speakers, so there is now two about 90 mm holes
to trunk.
I know, it?s not enough ,but something better.
I think , when element of subwoofer is backward, the sound
is better...
You are right, many plastic covers rattling....
But we must fit some cushion to everywhere, which make a noise.

Hello...
Here new 6-ch amp for front speakers.
Tweeters: DLS Iridium....Midranges from Audax and
Midbass: Focal Polykevlar...
All these are now in full active system..
Now sound is very nice.
Midbass are very nice under front seats, that place
is much better than doorpanel.
Yep....E60fun

Ok, Merzbow, hello again.!
I find Fine midrange elements for front door.
Audax HP080G0 , it?s 3 inch element, so it is easy to
install to original places to doors.
So, 165 mm midbas to under frontseats, treble and midrange
to doors and 15 inch subwoofer to trunk.
I remove original rear speakers, then there is more
open cap, so airpressure of subwoofer coming better
to cabin.
Cheer`s
Did the Focal's fit ok in the stock sub-location?

Where the Audax 3"s drop right in?

Can you get the the front tweeters by just removing the front door panel?

Thanks for your answers!

Hello guys, I am trying to apply dynamat to the back deck lid on my e60 where the top speakers go. Is there anyway any one can show me pictures or guide me how to remove the back seat completely and the decklid. if it helps please email me on alisaeed03@yahoo.com or just post them here.
Thank you!

You're better off spraying it with a good rubberized undercoating. Cheaper, easier to apply and works just the same if not, better. There is a reason they use it underneath the cars.

Pull up on the bottom seat, it comes out easy. Next go in the trunk and get on your back head in first and almost touch the back seat panel. Look up and on the left and right side you will see a small indented area with a few bolts around it. There is a lock inside and if you use a flat screw driver and slide it to one side, I believe outboard and at the same time apply a little pressure on the back of the seat. It will unlock. Then do the other side.
