How do you separate the bulb from the balast?

OMG... I removed the headlight and took out the bulb with the balast...

But... I was not albe to separate them... I am so... pissed...

Please helppppp... I searched... but no one explained about this part...

I'm not sure if this is something that can be separated. From the looks of the parts diagram, it seems as if they might be using a newer style bulb that has the "ignition element" fixed to the bulb...

I tried to seprate the bulb from the balast and it was not possible...

I think the part is assembled together... 07 model sucks...

Thanks for your help Rudy...
Remove the hi-voltage wire, unclip the holding clip and turn the ballast counterclockwise.
Check and point it's position before, so you won't have troubles with it's orientation when re-installing it.

I did not even move a bit... I mean I won't take a chance...

Nick, are you sure all of the bulbs are removable? If you look at the page I linked to in post #2, it looks as if there might be two versions of the bulb, one removable and one not...

There are two types of HID bulbs D1S an D2S on E60. On D1S bulbs the ballast and bulb are one piece part!
