Homemade Second Air intake on Stock Intake (enclosed) for 545i

This is a project DIY for 545i only (but it might work on 550i too) if you don't want spend $$$ on Dinan Air Intake. PLUS DUAL SCOOPS! if you want.

Possible Mats (about $80 to 150):

1 Stock Box (BMW part# 13717525715 ; either use your current one or if you don't want to drill a hole then order a used/new one) You can order in BAVARIA: http://www.usedbmwparts.com/
1 Air duct (BMW part# 13717790057; it is a M5 part)
1 Air Filter BMC or K&N (any performance, auto car shop, ask Trinity) IT IS A MUST!!!
1 Vacuum Hose or PVC hose flexible (51mm or 2"; plastic) HOME DEPOT
1 Pipe (51mm or 2" x 50cm or 11") HOME DEPOT
3 PVC connector/couplers (51mm or 2" both sides) HOME DEPOT

Optional: PVC clue if you don't want pvc connectors and it is cheaper if you want to save money.

Note1: Don't use tapes!
Note2: You can use between 38mm or 1 1/2" (minimum) to 63mm or 2 1/2" (maximum). 3" is possible but not recommended. Dinan uses 51mm or 2".
Note3: A ECU remap is recommended to run better with this intake.

Tools:

1 Drilling Table (recommended!)
1 Hole-saw (size: depending of the size of your duct)
Some Screwdrivers.

VERY IMPORTANT!: DO THE MEASURES FIRST BEFORE DO IT!!! (I don't have the exact measurement yet)

Time to work: about 1 - 2 hours.

I will post pictures later. I haven't done this yet because I am using my improved AFE but I am doing this for a friend.

Please give us more ideas you may have.

I have decided not put more pictures, step by step, measures, etc becasue there are DIY haters out there. Anyone one who are really interested just please PM and I will give you more pictures, videos.

FULLY REVERSIBLE BY THE WAY! ZERO DUCT TAPES ZERO DRILLS on the car (Well just drill a hole on the Intake Box. That is all). Duct is 2" / 51 mm.

Thank you.

Yeah! Agreed it looks much better than the v1 (totally ugly I admit). So I improved it.

Now the car needs to run about 50 - 100 for the ecu recalibration and the G Tech on its way.
