Just one more thing to watch for; as you open the master cylinder to allow the brake fluid to breathe out, surround the fluid container with paper or any other absorbent material because the fluid is highly corrosive. You will need to do this because the worn pads have already used more fluid to compensate for the wear and tear; as you compress the pads out with the C clamp in order to push the piston out this task will push the fluid out from the master cylinder tank, therefore the paper will take care of the overflowing. Needless to say that it will be a good idea to have some new fluid ready in case you will need to fill up the tank. Good luck!

i like to just pull the caliper and leave the brake pad on the piston. attach my big 'ol c-clamp and turn away (this will give a nice surface for the clamp to rest on). once the piston is back in, remove the pad. the piston will not come out. it is a relatively safe and easy job to do. it is scary doing brakes for the first time, because, after all... they are your BRAKES... that being said, brakes IMO are really a begginer level task on a car.

go to a hardware store to get a big c-clamp... autoparts stores may not have them.

thaks Craig for the tip, thats what I will do.

Do I really need to open up the MC or can the change be made without opening it up?

Torque, if I buy a torque wrench, how much should I set it up for? for the calipers and rotors?

thanks again guys for all the help, all suggestion will be taken in consideration.
