There are two adjustments on the HUD unit, both are accessible from behind the CID (the LCD monitor in the dash).
To align the HUD lef for right you'll use the Bowden type cable that will be clipped to the top of the HVAC unit directly behind the unit. To make the image higher or lower is a bit more complex. Once you have the CID out, look inside towards the left with a flashlight. You'll see a steel clip that has a nut attached to a bolt with an allen (5 sided) shape to the end of it. You'll need a long extension with a socket, I don't recall the size but it might be 12 or 14mm from memory. LIGHTY loosen that bolt and use a smaller socket to adjust the nut let or right, once you find the right alignment, slowly and carefully re-tighten the nut. You'll need to over or under compensate for height because when you tighten the nut you'll turn the adjustment bolt slightly. You'll see what I mean when you are actually doing this, but with some patience and fine tuning you'll get it right.

My dealer precalculated about an hour labour to do this, I tried this myself as well and got it done in about 20 minutes.
Pretty easy to adjust, but be careful not to scratch your glossy panels when you've got the center screen hanging out of your dash. Put a soft cloth under the unit and your good.

Hi,
I did this a while ago and wrote a DIY. See link below:

It's quite straightforward.
