In case you want to plug the puddle lights to the lights under the door and you want to do this without cutting any of the original wires you need the following BMW parts for EACH side

1 x 61138377072
1 x 61136931929
2 x 61130005197
2 x 61130005198

So what you do is disconnect the plug from the current bulb, plug that into your Pin socket 61136931929 using the two pin contacts 61130005198. Then on the other side connect the socket housing 61138377072 using the two socket contacts 61130005197 and plug that back into the original light. Use the joint in the wires between the 61130005197 and 61130005198 to connect your puddle lamp power wires. This way if you ever had to get things back to normal all you needed to do is plug the light with the car's wiring harness plug back again.

Thanks Bruce. Will definitely be trying this with the puddle lamps on the M5 mirrors.

One question, do the parts in the write up above include the necessary wires ? Because I know for sure that the wires from the M5 mirrors won't be long enough to reach down to the bulbs under the door...........or are they plugged somewhere near the same ECU where the mirror is plugged ???

The torx screws I uncovered are way bigger than T20. Are you sure these are the right bits?
How'd you pop the speaker trim completely off?
I'm having trouble with the inside corner (corner closest to the glass).

Hi,

you are right - i needed a T10, 15, 20 to take the mirror apart but to take the mirror off the door, I think i needed a t30.

The speaker trim is a bit tricky but basically you have to pull the speaker trim out of the door frame, Stick your fingers into the trim and pull the trim out, at first near the speakers and then work your way along the top. At some point the tension is gone and the trim becomes loose, and you can move the speakers to the side to access the screws..

hope this was of some help..

Yes, theoretically it should work. basically what you do is connect the wires from the motor to the new lci-ECU that you planted into the non-lci m5 miror...
