How easy is it to connect the vent hose from this EverStart Maxx 49? Is the vent in the middle of the battery just like the original factory battery?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Just replaced my battery last week - Interstate MTP-H9. It was a bit more than Duralast, $197 + tax. There was a $18 core charge. This is the exact match in both dimension and rating as the Duralast battery. It came with 2 drain holes on both sides of the battery and a plastic plug to seal off one hole depending on drain tube location. Since it was the same rating as the BMW battery, I just needed to reset IBS via INPA. I have no active steering option, so no active steering error.
Thanks,
Thanks,

I just got the OEM battery from my BMW parts counter for $205.
My original was the 110AH but the it has been superseded by the AGM battery. AGM batteries are supposed to be better at short distance driving styles which we know is a problem with the BMWs (thats what I read on the internet anyway).
I can reset the IBS with INPA and use NCSExpert to recode for the new battery type.

We've discussed this so many times. The EverMaxx 94R that walmart carries is going to run you $70 or so and is a better battery than original OEM. Come on, it's Johnson Controls, made in same factory plant and has 3 yr replacement warranty. Riding on them for a decade so I have to stand by them especially since no problems.

Awesome thread!!!
I just replaced my battery yesterday and the info neoe60 posted was spot on
Maybe a moderator can make this thread "sticky".
As for the previous post about the terminals being reversed - this is the norm for European cars, although I didn't know until now it applied to U.S. spec models. When I lived in Germany I had fits trying to get a replacement battery for a Dodge Neon I used to drive. Everywhere I went the batteries had the terminals reversed and I didn't have time to fabricate a longer cable to make it work. I ended up overpaying a Chrysler dealership for an "imported" battery.

Changed my battery yesterday to this one (95R-DLG) and it was an exact fit. Thanks for the tip and research! Vent was in the correct location (I had to plug the opposite vent using the plug provided that was attached to the orange piece).

I think the key to finding an exact replacement is to search for batteries that are listed as 95R/H9. I was also able to find a suitable replacement battery by searching for parts for a 2001 740i.
I found a replacement at AdvancedAuto for $170. If you use Promo Code "BATX" in the shopping cart then you get a 25% discount, making the total for the battery $138. The battery has a 36 month replacement/84 month pro-rated warranty. This is not a bad deal, and I will most like likely be picking up one tomorrow.
Bosch makes a replacement as well, but as it is Sunday night I'll have to wait to get a price tomorrow morning. Bosch part # S5573B.
I also found one at Batteries Plus for $199, part # SLI95RH9.
