Wow, that looks good, thanks Mike.
Mine has a very similar bottom section of the bar from teh e61, but it doesn't have the removable flap.
Hope they don't have to cut...They said i need a difuser that is matt Grey and does not need painting...?
All i hope is that it looks neat and factory like.

As yours is a Sport, it will definitely need a big hole in it.
You can get the infill panel (the "U" shaped bit") along with the cover for the ball socket from BMW. The cover is available separately, but I understand it is no good without the infill as there is nothing there for it to clip onto. More money I'm afraid!!

Well, Just got a call from the installer.
i was worried how "Un factory like" this was going to look.
The difuser we speak of bassically replaces half of the whole back bumper.
Due to the installer being unaware of this til now, he has offered to Spray it for free!!! It has the exact same look as the link you (alwynMike) provided above. (at least as he described).
Basically, Doing the full install for $1500AUS. This is all BMW parts. The BMW Dealer was asking $2800AUS for the retrofit.

Can anyone tell me how much the option is when buying a car new...?
pics to come...

Haahahah, Well here in the land of Aus, The dealer was asking $2800 for a retrofit.
so i know i got my money worth.
BMW's are more unique in oz. and more expensive...so only true lovers have them.
Got the car back today.
slight issue.
The slot for the towbar tongue is slightly too low.
so the cover cannot fit on.
slightly annoyed, by they said they are investigating with BMW and will try an fix it.
Otherwise, the tow bar install is great. can't wait to use it.
Even the FREE spray job on the difuser looks factory and clean.

Well, got off the phone from BMW!!
The bumper is not designed for the bigger AUSSie towbars...
I Guess its the case being a big tough aussie having to deal with this sort of thing.
Well, the installed have been given the go-ahead to try and cut the flap to see if they can cover the towbar (when not in use). If unsuccessful, BMW are giving a full refund on the flap...hmm
oh well, from the photo's i still think it looks pretty good.

Hmmm, the tongue looks quite different from the European one - it is cast rather than plate.
It looks like your ball is 2 inch, rather than the European (and UK) 50mm standard.
Perhaps the whole bar is different, although the car will be homologated for a standard towing weight wherever it is - IIRC its 2000kgs.
