My Ride: 2005 545i E60 Orient Blau Metallic
Premium, NAV, Winter Package, Heads Up Display, Logic 7 Audio, AngeliBright Upgrade [White], M5 Body Kit, M Embroidered Seats
OK - so I spent the entire afternoon on this site going through the entire threads on the E60 LED Tail light install. 
I then looked at EBay and see a number of LED tail light install upgrades are available 
- completely plug and play per the description on the vendors site 
. All but one of them on Autohobbyasia [a Hong Kong based vendor], however, DO NOT address the issue of error messages popping up on the iDrive [re: Check Tail Lights].
Has anyone bought any of these locally available LED Tail lamps? They really look very different to the LCIs available on the 2007+ 5's on the pictures - their reverse light is on the upper/inner side and the turn light is not clearly seen. Are all the lamps LEDs or is there just an LED panel? How are they really in comparison with the LCI version? Does anyone have pix of their lights installed? Please post ASAP.

I ordered a pair of the smoked LED's from Autohobbyasia last week and will report out when I receive them. The deciding factor was the reference to the diode fix which would suggest they are paying more attention to the details.....we'll see. The shipping could take a few weeks according to their listing so this may not happen fast. Stay tuned...

Excellent brandsb. Let us know your experience - I agree, the fact that they use the specific reference to the lack of an error message is assuring. Plus, the price [even with S+H] is more than comparable. Keep us posted! And make sure you take pix for a nice DIY!

My Ride: White w/ auburn interior, 2005 BMW 545i, with sport package, smg, navigation, head-up display, premium sound package, and cold weather package
my friend has them on his 5er, in my opinion i jus dont like them, i would get the lci instead
