this week long i've been going crazy with the belt speaking spealing on me for at least 1/2 hour when start the car every time. then this morning i decide to call BMW ask how much they can replace or tight my belt. their answer was...
" we need to check and diagnose it first before we can do anything, and it cost you 120CND an hour the diagnose will take about 2 hour"
so i ask " so it cost me 260 just to diagnose with out doing anything?"
they answer" YEs

THAT IS HIGH WAY ROBBERY!!!!

so any one know how to tight the belt? any special tool require?

How many miles on your car? If you really think it is the accessory drive belt making the noise tell the dealer to skip the diagnosis and just replace it.

That said, it sounds like you need to hunt down an independent mechanic who specializes in repair and maintenance of BMW's.

Where are you located? Forum Members in your country / location may be able to refer you to qualified mechanics.

ADDED > I hunted down one of your earlier posts ...see you have 95K miles ... it's time to replace some parts ... Belts, spark plugs, filters, etc. BMWs are fun to drive but expensive to maintain and repair after warranty. Good luck with your first BMW!

Are you in Canada right? I can help you. 95K is a lot. you need to replace new parts to extend the life.

- Spark Plugs
- Belt
- Oxygen Sensors
- Oil and Coolant Flush.
- Injectors / Ignition coils (maybe)

You can order them in http://www.bimmerspecialist.com/canada/parts/index/bmw

then DIY (Free!) or an specialist mech ($$$ labour)
