DIY: How to replace the spark plugs on your V8

I attempted this today and couldn't get to my rear plugs, it was impossible with the tools, or lack of I should say. So i replaced all coil packs (Bosch OEM Ignition Coil # 0221504464) and changed the easy 6 plugs, fired up the car and got emissions warnings and the car is idling really, really rough. I replaced the 6 plugs with Bosch (4417) FGR7DQP Platinum +4 Spark Plug, and this is my first attempt ever at any type of car maintenance. I don't know what to do from here since I don't feel comfortable driving the car to autozone to pickup elbow like tools. help.

I just did my plugs on my 550 last week. You just have to have patience and take your time. For the back two plugs you need to following the directions from the following thread:

As far as the rough idle at start up I had the same issue. You need to check all the coil connectors and make sure there is no gap when you connect the ignition coils back. I have attached the bavauto video which shows you in detail what to do:

Thanks for the reply, i went back in last night and reseated the 6 plugs/coils and torqued pretty tightly and still observing the same problem. The video for the coil packs was pretty insightful so i'm going to check those connections again tonight.

Sure enough a couple weren't 100% seated, starts up fine now, doesn't idle as rough, but still have CEL light and increased emissions. am i going to have to go to the dealer to get that cleared?
