Do you mean flash firmware using WinKFP or using NCSExpert to code options? As when using NCSExpert I do not use stable power supply.

Take a look at the link for instruction to change VO. http://www.docstoc.com/docs/15087350...icle-Order-BMW. You need to remove $205 and add $2TB to KOMBI. You do not need to code the entire car.

No. This is for LCI models, with electronic gear selector switch. Try search for pre-LCI there is also a procedure for it.

I have just replaced the steering from a workshop. The steering bolt was too tight, could not get it off with my tools. I was hoping that I could do the wiring without taking off the steering. Any ideas? I see I can pry off the front cover and pry the bottom cover partially, but, could not get it completely out, does not look like it is stuck due to front cover. Also once I unscrewed the screw on the bottom cover, I could not put it back on. Please some advice, I am planning to finish off the wiring tomorrow.

Did you need a power supply or hookup from a running car with jumper cables while doing the egs flash with winkfp? Or was it fairly quick?

I have not done it myself as I have a 525i for which there is no firmware with sat support, but, during my investigation I found that it takes around 10min to complete the flash. You should preferably hookup to a stable power supply or atleast a running car. As the voltage should be steady while flash otherwise it might corrupt/brick the controller.

LMA and CAS have 2TB programmed and Kombi as programmed but SPORT does not show up in cluster when pressed. No rev matching or throttle blips. Just getting stiff steering when SPORT button is pressed.

AFAIK in order to get rev matching and throttle blips you need to flash egs with 2TB firmware. And the sport in cluster should work as soon as you do expert mode coding 2tb in kombi with empty man file. while doing the coding in kombi ensure that 205 is removed from fa.

But a lot of the posts suggest NOT to program using a blank .man file.

Also, how do I make sure that the KOMBI knows about 2TB? Both CAS and LMA show 2TB in Vehicle Order already.
