Does anyone know if disconnecting the i-drive screen will cause any problems? I have a couple of minor scratches that I could polish out, but I would need to disconnect it from the car. Would I need to disconnect the battery even thought I would leave the key out of ignition? Thanks for any help. Chris

Hey I took off my screen and no problem. What I did was unlock the doors and then remove the ground on the battery. Left it off until I put back the screen. No problems. But be carful with the battery though. I've heard some pretty weird things about the battery throwing codes if put on in a wrong way.

I have taken mine out with no difficulties at all due to a scratch on the screen, so I purchased a new one and replaced it. couple of screws on top, there are two wires you need to disconnect and that is all. no need to disconnect your battery.
Good Luck.

I have my old screen in working condition but has an inch scratch on it if anyone interest to purchase it at good price.
