Any one got instructions for changing the diesel fuel filter on a 530d?, search didn't show anything.

It locates on the left side under the car. You have to remove some plastic covers to see it.

ok cool, many thanks for the help, this is one of the few jobs i don`t like doing, fuel smells bad and makes my hands stink, also fuel is expensive and i always manage to loose some

Reminds me I need to change mine too, are any special tools (tube clamps etc) required for this?

They all are metal tubes so no need for tube clamps.
I haven't done this myself, but I have been watching while the BMW mechanic does it.

Can i ask a silly question? You mention the metal tubes and no need to clamp, does this mean that when the pipes are disconnected that appart from some slight spillage from the filter that no more should come out. Is there a automatic shut off valve or something similar built in?
