Hi.

I'm doing my first Oil Change and Fuel Filter change on my E60 530d tomorrow, (after lots of delays!)

My question is, do I need to take out fuse or disconnect battery before doing the fuel filter change, or just go for it?
My plan is,
Open cover under passenger/left side.
Loosen Bracket.
Undo clip at forward end.
Undo clip at rear end.
Take out and replace.
Attach forward end first.
Attach rear end.
Tighten bracket.
Cover on.
Prime fuel with key at position 2.

Any thoughts welcome!

Thanks.
Ross

So, Oil change done.
I'm happy I don't need to take out the fuse for the Fuel pump to do the Fuel filter change.
Couldn't find it though!
The panel under the left side seat is the whole front left quarter of the car. Didn't think I'd need to take this off...
Anyone?
Thanks.
Ross.

I was watching when a mechanic was changing my fuel filter and he didn't remove the whole panel. He only bent it to reach the filter.

I gave up on this one! The car wasn't high enough on the axle stands, so got my local garage to change it for £20!
But took a picture.
The filter is a lot further over towards the sill than I thought. Under the bigger panel.
Here is a not-so-good picture.

Here is how it's done. Remember that fuel will come from the fuel line when filter is removed.

Also did the CDV mod at same time. Finaly my clutch feels responsive.
