Dension Update

Hi everyone!
Does anyone know if he dension 500 unit needs updating at all?... and how do I go about it?
On http://www.dension.com/downloads?fie...o_one=Firmware I saw this, but I am not sure if I should venture trying it. Does the Dension automatically rip the zip file or should I rip it first? Does the car need to be off before doing it?...
I know the idrive is like, you know, as Sting says, "that's my baby, she can be all four seasons in 1 day!!!!"
