I was looking through back forumns and saw lots of posts on replacing the fog light halogen bulbs with Xenon color temperature bulbs. However, I couldn't find if anyone had replaced the Daytime Running Lights with these bulbs.

Would anyone know what the model number of these lightbulbs are and if this is an easy task to accomplish? Hope I don't need to remove the engine first :'(

I don't have the DRL's activated on my car, but as far as I know the DRL's are basically the halogen flashing bulbs turned on at a lesser intensity......so what you would need to get is an "H7" bulb with a high color temp. I don't know how those will look when they are not at full intensity, but I suspect that they will still look whiter than the standard halogens. It should be very easy to replace those as there is a round plastic cap on the back of the headlights that just twists off to expose the bulb.

Don't bother spending any money on replacing the DRLs with Xenon-type Halogen Bulbs. I just changed them this PM along with the Fog Lights.

The Fog Lights turned out great, the light color difference on the DRLs was almost not noticable due to the lower power level---except when flashing.

Rodybmw you were right on

DRL's are not required in the US, so mine were never activated, which was what I preferred anyways.
