sqeclipse, welcome!
What you are trying to do may be quite difficult or very easy depending on your level of expertise. If you are not very skilled in electronics, etc., you may find the best solution is to purchase an adapter from Dom of NavwithTV (you can read about his product by clicking here.)
If you are skilled with electronics and this sort of thing, I think you might find what you're looking for in the following files...
TFT LCD Module specifications (from Sharp)
LQ065T9DR52U.pdf
E60 Central Information Display (CID)
SBT_E60_Central_Information_Display_CID.pdf
E60 Central Information Display System Overview
SBT_E60_Central_Information_Display_CID___System_Overview.pdf
Removing and installing on-board display
RA_Removing_and_installing_on_board_monitor.pdf
Good luck! Keep us posted on your progress or if you learn anything that can help us out!!

You're welcome...
(Even though you waited a week to check on it, you had your answer in 2 hours -- how's that for service? )
