Since taking ownership of my 530 three weeks ago, I have come to realize that I can't just add stuff to my car, I have to code it in. I have found a few of the coding forums out there that have a lot of valuable information within them. My question to you, and I realize that the generalities might be for a specific reason, but what parts would I need to get started with the coding? I can't stand regular radio and I had both iPod and SIRIUS functionality in my previous car and I miss them DEARLY! I have found thison eBay, but am concerned about shipping costs as well as functionality. If this works, I'll buy it right now, but since I haven't a clue as to where to begin, and haven't seen specifics short of vague "cable" terms, I'd like to make an informed decision. My 05 530 only had the standard one disk slot with no CDC or anything else, so I NEED to get something else going before I put my foot through the radio... That crap that they call "music" makes my drive to work all that much more intolerable!

I would start here:

You don't need much in the way of fancy equipment to get started. I would invest in an "eBay" cable and go from there.

Many members have complained about the standard crapy audio setup, your not the first.
Enjoy the coding adventures!
