Changing the orange LED to white LED on the cluster to look like M5 or

Any tips for coloring the needles?

Use a scalpel to remove the white, and use nail varnish to colour them.
They don't look perfect upon close inspection but they'll do!

Did you try a sharpie (permanent marker) over the white first?

That wouldn't have made any difference mate, they work like a light pipe, the orange light comes through the centre of the needle and lights it up from inside out.

Welcome 2 more new members of M cluster club

I just use red color permanent marker paint the needle top surface only. Then whatever light turn on or off needle still in red.

Professional may use below painting

Local electronic component shop or ebay.

LED size in 3528 white color

Neither Frys or Radio Shack had them. If you can't find any local, pm me. I just got a bunch from China. ...it took 3weeks to get 'em.
