Took my cluster out and metered the voltage, it varies between 1.4 - 1.9vf dependant on the rheostat (dimmer).

The LED's I got had a minimum of 3.0vf.

Anyone know where I can get 10 LED's with a max vf of 2.0? Preferably operating range of 1.4-2.0

Looks like you got the ebay ones?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=190333944957&Category=66954&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26its%3DI%26otn%3D2This is the data sheet that they gave me for those:
http://www.well-ton.com/PLCC.html

Havn't tried these, but I assume they won't work - the vf(V) is 2.8 to 3.4. Can anyone else confirm this one way or the other?
I PM'd Ricky about getting some thru him.

I got these ones

but they would not light up at all... I tested it across the LED already in place so i didn't end up with a non working cluster.

I'm loathed to do this as the meter readings showed 1.4-1.9vf from the cluster and most leds state vf of 3.0+
and when I tried my LEDs (as linked above) they did not work!

Did you checked one by one by Multimeter before soldering? I don't think that your white led have issue. That 4 led not all in series. 2 by 2 only.

Hope can solve your issue.

All done, the most difficult part was the colour change of the needles, the electronics was very easy.

I reckon I could do this again in about 1hr.

If anyone is near Kent and would like to see the result in the flesh, by all means.

Haha. Nice Chris! I was just writing a reply to tell you to go ahead and try it anyways.
Looks like you left the background black instead of applying the white and yellow sticker?
Any tips for coloring the needles?
